ドット絵を描くための基本の道具と、Windows・Mac の歴代アイコンフォーマットへの対応を、ひとつのドキュメントベースのアプリに収めています。

エディタ

  • ツールは 9 種 — ペン・消しゴム・塗りつぶし・スポイト・直線・矩形・楕円・矩形選択・投げ縄
  • レイヤーとアニメーションに対応
  • マルチ解像度キャンバス — 1 つの書類にサイズ × ビット深度ごとの独立キャンバスを持てます
  • グリッド線は太さ 3 段階。ピンチでズームできます
  • 背景の透過は市松模様で表現し、透過色を指定できます

レガシーアイコンフォーマット

  • Windows の .ico・.cur（ホットスポット対応）・.ani・.icl の読み書き
  • .dll / .exe（NE / PE リソース）からのアイコン抽出
  • Mac の .icns（全世代の読み書き）とリソースフォーク、Apple の Icon Composer（.icon）
  • .icl（Windows の NE 形式アイコンライブラリ）は 16-bit NE 実行形式を一から生成して書き出し。アイコン名とグループ構造を保ちます
  • 1/4/8bit のリソースはビット深度を保ったまま書き戻されます

パレット

  • 標準パレットは 11 種 — 白黒・グレー 16・Mac 16 / 256・Windows 16 / 256・Web セーフ 216・クレヨン 48・NES・PICO-8・ゲームボーイ風
  • 既定はクレヨン 48
  • カスタムパレットを作成できます
  • GIMP（.gpl）/ JASC（.pal）形式の読み込み・書き出しに対応

iPad と Apple Pencil

  • ペンで描き、指でパンとズーム。役割が分かれているので、手を置いたまま描けます
  • ダブルタップでペンと消しゴムを切り替え
  • スクイーズ（Apple Pencil Pro）でツールを順に切り替え
  • 指で描きたいときは、指描画のトグルをオンに

.flashpixel 書類

レイヤー・アニメーション・マルチ解像度を 1 つのファイルに保存する Flash Pixel の書類形式です。

QuickLook

.flashpixel と .icl のサムネイル表示とプレビュー（QuickLook）に対応しています。

iCloud Drive

書類は iCloud Drive に保存できます。同じ書類形式なので、Mac と iPad で同じファイルを開けます。

The essential tools for drawing pixel art, plus support for the icon formats of Windows and Mac history — all in one document-based app.

Editor

  • Nine tools — pen, eraser, fill, eyedropper, line, rectangle, ellipse, rectangular select, and lasso
  • Layers and animation
  • Multi-resolution canvases — keep an independent canvas per size × bit depth in one document
  • Grid lines in three thicknesses, and pinch to zoom
  • Transparency shown as a checkerboard, with a configurable transparent color

Legacy icon formats

  • Read and write Windows .ico, .cur (with hotspots), .ani, and .icl
  • Icon extraction from .dll / .exe (NE / PE resources)
  • Mac .icns (all generations, read and write), resource forks, and Apple's Icon Composer (.icon)
  • .icl — Windows icon libraries — are generated from scratch as 16-bit NE executables, preserving icon names and group structure
  • 1/4/8-bit resources keep their bit depth on write-back

Palettes

  • Eleven built-in palettes — black & white, 16 grays, Mac 16 / 256, Windows 16 / 256, web-safe 216, Crayons 48, NES, PICO-8, and Game Boy-style

iPad and Apple Pencil

  • Draw with the Pencil, pan and zoom with your fingers — you can rest your hand while drawing
  • Double-tap to switch between pen and eraser
  • Squeeze (Apple Pencil Pro) to cycle through tools
  • Prefer drawing with a finger? Turn on the finger-drawing toggle

.flashpixel documents

Flash Pixel's own document format keeps layers, animation, and multiple resolutions in a single file.

QuickLook

Thumbnails and previews (QuickLook) are supported for .flashpixel and .icl documents.

iCloud Drive

Documents can be stored in iCloud Drive. The format is identical on both platforms, so the same file opens on Mac and iPad.
